This is my ghost trap collection. I poured over the Ghostbuster Reference Library site for hours. As per my other post about the trap (and pedal) variations, I have settled on that there are main 5 trap types, with variations amongst them, accounting for between 9-12 different identifiable traps.
The traps are: 1) GB1 yellow rod; 2) the red rod made from a yellow rod; 3) a silver rod made from the yellow rod; 4) a silver rod made from the aforementioned red rod; 5) and a GB2 made silver rod.
The are identified on the reference site as follows:
1) yellow rod: https://www.theghostbustersreferencelib ... -hero-trap
2) the silver rod made from a yellow rod: https://www.theghostbustersreferencelib ... -hero-trap
3) You’ll note that there is also a red rod, but it bears so much more resemblance to the yellow rod, that it didn’t truly become a red rod until the red rod seen in the ballroom. This is the red rod made from a yellow rod:

4) You’ll note another red rod, but notice how the front knobs are different. This is the trap that was a red rod that became a silver rod: https://www.theghostbustersreferencelib ... host-traps

5) Regarding the 3 GB2 traps on the reference site, the courtroom trap is either a silver rod made from a red rod or a GB2 trap. There are not enough details on it to be certain.

The jogger trap is identified to be a GB1 mod.

And the semi hero is not identified, but there are 2 variations therein.

Comparing these 3 traps to the other traps, I was able to identify enough details to come to the conclusion that there is a unique GB2 style that is not a convert.
What I have appreciated most is that both in-universe, as actual props, and the toy bodies these were made from, there is massive differentiation.
Though both trap 1 and 2 are not finished, and I have not made 4 yet, I wanted to share my work.
Trap 5 is a Haslab. To me, this works best as the GB2 trap because it has different dimensions than the GB1 traps.
I have the trap for the 4 trap, which is what I understand to be a Rubies-Walmart trap, as it has the pedal. I have seen 2 variations of this trap: A has the wire from the side of the battery box and B has the wire from the bottom of the battery box. My trap 3 is made from what I believe to be B, but I purchased it already modified. Trap 4 will be variable A. Also of note, is that A has a hollow body, like the pedal-less traps; B has a solid body.
Traps 1 and 2 are made from Spirit pedal-less traps. Both of these toys were also different in the motherboard of the electronics and the plunger mechanism, which opens the door. It is my understanding that A is a European version and B is an American version.
