I have some exciting progress to share! I taped off the shell for texturing. I used orange peel wall texture, then covered it in clear coat.

I let that cure, then started painting all the things.

As you can see, I also glued in the lenses.

I twisted my ribbon cable while heating it with a heat gun. I used watered down brown and black paint, brushed on and wiped off parallel to the wires, to dirty up the cable. It's zip tied to a pipe to keep it twisted until it's time to install it.

I used the same paint technique to make all the bolts and other greeblies rusty and/or dirty.

And here is a mostly assembled Ion Arm. I just need to install the tubing.
