Disappointing news but depending on the business reason for this feature in the first place either:I agree with you.
It's down to licensing costs paid to Sony by Google. Placating existing users of Waze is less important than attracting new ones, and if Google feel that the Ecto-1 functions are not pulling in new users then why renew the licensing agreement?
Alternatively it could have been Sony that paid Google as part of the marketing campaigns for the Ghostbusters movies and it's not actually Waze's decision.
