Others have pointed out that the Baofeng UV-5R is the walkie in Frozen Empire. It’s also a “HAM” radio and that means a special license. The Baofeng UV-5G, however, only requires the much less stringent GMRS license here in the US and is cosmetically identical to the 5R.
So I registered with the FCC and got my GMRS license and a Baofeng UV-5G Plus. Now I just need some yellow electrical tape.
