Okay, so I was able to remove the battery pack. Turns out it was never connected to the board via cables. Is this normal?

Also couldn't open up the battery pack. Is there an easy way?
Further observations: I was also able to remove the board from the back shell, at least partially (still connected via power cables). How do I remove these cables?
And about the tubes; looks like there was enough space on the board just for 7 tubes (I see 7 beads for numbers). Is this normal?

And the blue plastic piece: how do I remove it?
