Hello to everyone on the board. I wanted to create this build thread for a little project I started today. I'm a huge Ghostbusters enthusiast and I have suckered my fiancé into cosplaying with me. She's a tiny human, about 5'2", so a full-size proton pack is proportionally wrong for her, but the Spirit Halloween pack is pretty perfect.
I first modified her Spirit pack a few years ago but the wand always bothered me.

After kicking around the idea of starting a new pack for her then deciding to just mod her current pack more, I knew I HAD to change out the wand. A good buddy of mine had an extra 3D printed scaled wand kit and donated it to me, warning me it was pretty rough and needed a lot of clean up.
So, on this sunny Sunday, I decided to start this project. So here we go! I started by Bondoing some of the parts then did a little sanding.

I had also been wanting to add a rotating grip, but the kit wasn't designed to include this feature. Instead, it had that nub the aluminum tube was **supposed** to fit over, except it didn't fit at all, so let's start cutting it up!

That worked out better than expected...

I had been planning this for a couple weeks, so I found a PVC tube that would fit inside the aluminum tube. It's long enough that it will bump up against the back of the inside of the wand. I drilled out the front to support it, but will mechanically connect it along the back side and hide it behind the fuse box and rear cylinder.
Then, I wanted it to have the short aluminum ring separate from the main tube, so I cut it by hand and and drilled out some holes for the hex screws.

I also drilled out holes for hat lights and an arcolectric lamp. All of are full-size, but I think they scale well enough with this wand body

And finally, I have the rear aluminum tube getting epoxied in place.

I have a Frankengeek electronics kit to install still and I'm letting the epoxies cure for 24 hours. I may try to do some painting tomorrow if it isn't too humid. I also grabbed Moby Sign Company's Hasbro kids wand labels that appear to be the perfect size for this bad boy.
