I actually hoped to see it in Frozen Empire, but unfortunately they didn't shoot it. And yet, with modern technology, it would be absolutely feasible.
So imagine this: the Ghostbusters are getting ready for the next mission, and at first, all happens like a normal gear up scene. The proton packs are loaded in the Ecto-1, the Ghostbusters get in, the engine is started and the main door is opened.
And then, movie magic happens.
The camera shows the Ecto-1 from the front, which is facing the main door. We are clearly in the LA firehouse, or in a soundstage replica. But then, the camera backs away, out of the door, without any apparent cut or trick angle where the car hides the interior set, and the outside is the NY firehouse! With the interior still visible, the Ecto-1 gets out, steers left and is driven away.
All it would take to shoot that scene would be motion-controlled cameras. Maybe it would be overlooked by casuals, but for hardcore fans who know how the originals were shot, seeing a seamless transition from the inside to the outside would be absolutely mind-boggling!
