While watching the movie last night (again) I happened to give more thought to how Phoebe refers to Ray as “Dr. Ray”. My mind went back to when I read “A History of Ghosts” by Peter Aykroyd. The author refers to the subject of the book; Dr. Samuel Augustus Aykroyd as “Dr. A” throughout the text.
Not much on paper, but when you say “Dr. Ray” and “Dr. A” out loud they sound the same. Is the use of “Dr. Ray” perhaps a small hidden tribute to Dr. Samuel Augustus Aykroyd? After all, without his explorations into the paranormal and the subsequent family influence on Dan Aykroyd, we would not have had Ghostbusters as it exists today.
Valid theory or just the tricks of my mind while watching the movie late at night half asleep? Maybe both? Or perhaps a fun coincidence.![:blush:]( "*Blushing*")
