I would so love it to see that commercial on TV late at night in 1989.Another bit I forgot to mention, huge props to Alex Newborn for providing the clear image of Janine's Cosmopolitan magazine cover. Sony legal loves blurring things, and the blurry magazine on the otherwise clear film scan really bugged me. I got through the opening shot pretty easily, but the wide shot was a massive pain to make look right. I gave up.
A huge lack of cheesy advertising has been missing from modern GB. I thought for sure we would see the kids making Youtube ads or something.
Speaking of modern GB, I think the Afterlife teaser might actually be my fav. Releasing a teaser trailer the day after making the announcement of the movie in print is awesome movie making. I'll never forget my co-worker mentioning it while I was driving. "It's a fan trailer, dude. They only announced the project last night" were my words. That was a fun day.
